Select Board · Meeting of August 19, 2026
Plainfield Select Board votes to rename the town ball field for longtime volunteer Sandy Moran. A fire department and Fire Association representative identified as Rob pitched the change, saying "I didn't want to miss that opportunity for you guys to enjoy seeing it as the Sandy Moran Park," and the board approved a name including "Moran" unanimously, with a plaque and barbecue reveal to follow. The board also unanimously approved a Civic Plus website migration without paid ADA add-ons and confirmed a $96,368 Green Communities grant for geothermal heat pumps at the town building.
Board of Health member Ron, also called Ronnie, offered to clean a town-building spring that he said is "the only water supply in town that tested poorly," with Council on Aging representative Holly backing the hire; the work is expected the week after Labor Day. The board closed by voting into executive session over nonunion personnel negotiations.
