Plainfield Deed Records Show Town Acquiring 10 Properties in a Single July Day
Plainfield recorded 13 property transfers between July 3 and Aug. 1, but no sale price was disclosed for any transaction, so no price range or median can be reported. The month's activity was dominated by the Town of Plainfield, which acquired 10 separate parcels in a single day, July 9, including properties on East Main, West Main, River Road and South Central streets. Only three transfers involved private buyers and sellers unaffiliated with the town: sales at 10 Maple St., 0 East Main St. and an unaddressed Plainfield property, recorded July 8, 13 and 15 respectively. Two of those three private sales involved a bank as seller. With municipal acquisitions accounting for most of the period's recorded deeds, the data offers limited insight into ordinary residential market activity this month.
