Plainfield conservation board delays solar hearing after consultant flags 62 needed plan fixes. The Conservation Commission voted unanimously to continue its hearing on New Leaf Energy's proposed solar array at 6 North Union Street to September 30 at 6:30 p.m., after member Jack said a peer-review consultant found roughly 60 to 62 corrections needed in the applicant's July 17 site plan. "We can't just keep reviewing and reviewing and reviewing until there's no more issues, but 60 is a little much," Jack said.
Member David pushed for a defined scope and cost for the next review round. Separately, the board's consultant flagged that the applicant may have underpaid its filing fee, paying a $237.50 state share under an incorrect category, sparking a wider review of whether conservation filing fees have been properly deposited into the commission's own account over the past 16 to 17 years rather than the town's general fund.
